THE Commonwealth

Welcome to The Commonwealth! Situated in a quiet corner on the edge of Sugar Land, The Commonwealth offers the best of urban living with the remnants of the countryside. The Commonwealth is blessed with an abundance of amenities including mature trees, relaxing water-filled areas, parks, and jogging trails. Beautiful trees and plants are attractive to several bird and butterfly species. Springtime brings out flowers in bloom and deer traversing the tree lined streets during the evening and late-night hours.

The 1,133 beautiful homes that comprise The Commonwealth are divided into seven neighborhoods. The oldest sections, Commonwealth Park and Oxford, were constructed beginning in 1987. The later sections, Bridgewater, Commonwealth Estates, Sutton Forest, Sutton Park and Sweetwater XII were completed by 1994. A majority of the Georgian style homes were built by Perry Homes but Newmark Homes also participated in the success of this community. Several custom builders, such as Charles Martin also played a part in building The Commonwealth.

The community offers a clubhouse, lighted tennis courts, two swimming pools and plenty of walking trails and parks for the use of Commonwealth residents and guests.
