The Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members. Trustees are elected to three-year terms on a rotating basis. Two are elected each year, one from each side of the district (Position 1, 2 and 3 on the West, and Positions 5, 6 and 7 on the East). Also, every third year, the “at large” Position 4, is elected. This distinction between east and west applies only to where the candidates live. All voters in Fort Bend ISD vote on each candidate on the ballot. After each election, the Board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve a one-year term. As residents of the district, our voices are most effective by way of our votes. Decisions made by our Board of Trustees impact the quality of education of children across the district. It is imperative that our community is visible and active within our children’s schools.

Fort Bend ISD Board Meetings are open to the public and take place on the third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. The meetings are held in the Board Room of the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd., in Sugar Land.
